Medicaid & Fertility Treatment

Medicaid is an income-restricted, government-run health insurance program. Medicaid does not cover fees associated with IVF or other fertility treatments. Before beginning infertility testing and treatment, take the time to understand your infertility insurance coverage and see if you may qualify for any special financing programs.

Fertility services are not covered by Medicaid

Medicaid does not cover preconception services, infertility or advanced reproductive treatments. This includes IVF (in vitro fertilization), egg freezing, fertility testing, preconception genetic screening and any consultations. A patient does not need a referral from a primary care doctor to seek these self pay services.

Once pregnancy has occurred, Medicaid will cover care before and after childbirth.
